USAT-A (Arts and Humanities), USAT-COM (Commerce) and USAT-GS (General Science) all have the same start: English 20 and maths reasoning 25. Then 30 subject MCQs. One thing surprises Arts students every year: there are 25 maths MCQs in USAT-A too.
Subject MCQs in each group
| Group | Subjects (10 MCQs each) |
|---|---|
| USAT-A Arts and Humanities | Islamiat or Ethics, Pakistan Studies, General Knowledge |
| USAT-COM Commerce | Accounting, Commerce, Economics |
| USAT-GS General Science | Mathematics, Statistics, Economics |
USAT-A: Arts and Humanities
English and maths are 60% of the MCQs, so do not only memorize facts.
- Islamiat or Ethics: the five pillars, main practices and values like honesty and justice.
- Pakistan Studies: independence, main leaders, provinces, rivers, national symbols and dates. Make flash cards.
- General Knowledge: capitals, currencies, world geography and basic science facts.
Test yourself with our 35 Pakistan Studies and General Knowledge MCQs. In our bank, General Knowledge is the easiest section of all, with only 3% hard questions. Pakistan Studies and Islamiat are 8 to 9% hard. These are memory marks, so revise little and often.
USAT-COM: Commerce
- Accounting: the accounting equation, debit and credit, and financial statements. Know what goes up and down with a debit and a credit. Most questions depend on this.
- Commerce: commerce vs industry vs trade, retail vs wholesale, types of business and business papers like a partnership deed.
- Economics: supply and demand, types of markets, GDP and inflation.
USAT-GS: General Science
- Statistics: mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation and basic probability. This is the hardest subject in our whole USAT bank, with 24% of questions marked hard. Practice by hand.
- Economics: 18% hard in our bank. Learn what causes what, like what happens to demand when price goes up.
- Mathematics: FSc algebra, trigonometry and graphs.
My advice for all 3 groups
Practice maths reasoning every single day, even if you are an Arts student. 25 MCQs is a third of the paper. Then see the 30 day USAT plan.
Practice by group: USAT-A tests, USAT-COM tests, USAT-GS tests.
