How Universities Receive Your HAT Score in Pakistan

By Tayar Karo team,

After your HAT result comes out, universities receive your score in two ways: through the HEC ETC system, and through the result card you attach when you apply. Here is exactly how it works.

Two ways universities get your HAT score

1. You submit the result card yourself

When you apply to a university, you download your official HAT result card from etc.hec.gov.pk and attach it to your application. This is the most direct and reliable way. Every university expects you to submit this document yourself.

Steps:

  1. Log in to etc.hec.gov.pk after your result is out.
  2. Open your HAT application and download the result card as a PDF.
  3. Attach it to every university application you send.

2. HEC shares scores electronically with universities

HEC also shares HAT scores with universities through the ETC system. Universities can log in to the ETC portal and verify a student's score using their CNIC or registration number. This is a background check, not a replacement for submitting your result card.

Can you use the same HAT score for multiple universities?

Yes. Your result card is an official certificate. You can attach it to applications for as many universities as you want. There is no limit. Your score is valid for 2 years from the date of the test, so plan your applications within that window.

What if a university says they did not receive your score?

This happens sometimes with the electronic sharing system. Here is what to do:

  1. First: Submit a printed or digital copy of your result card directly to the admissions office. This is the official document and should be enough.
  2. If the university still has an issue: Email etc@hec.gov.pk with your CNIC number, registration ID and the name of the university. Ask HEC to confirm your score to that university. Keep the email chain as proof.
  3. If it is urgent: Call the HEC helpdesk at 051-111-119-432 during office hours.

Important: never alter your result card

The result card you download from the ETC portal is an official HEC document. Universities can verify it against the ETC database. Do not edit, alter or modify it in any way. Submit exactly what you downloaded.

What if your result is not showing on the portal?

If the result date has passed (expected around 16 November 2026) and your score is still not visible, email etc@hec.gov.pk with your full name, CNIC and registration ID. Ask them to check your record. Include the date of your test in the email.

Applying to MS programs right now

If your HAT result is already out and you have 50 or above, you can start applying to universities. Spring 2027 admissions open at many universities in November and December. See our MS and MPhil admission guide for the full process and documents list.
