You register for both USAT and HAT on the ETC portal at etc.hec.gov.pk. You make an account, fill the form, choose your category and test city, then pay the fee through 1Link or 1Bill. The next registration opens on 8 November 2026 for the 13 December test.
What you need before you start
- Your CNIC or B-Form number
- A working email and phone number (you will get your slip and updates there)
- A recent photo in the size the portal asks for
- Your marks or degree details
Step by step registration
- Go to etc.hec.gov.pk and make a new account. Use an email you check every day.
- Log in and choose the test: USAT or HAT.
- Choose your category. For USAT this is your group, like USAT-M or USAT-CS. For HAT it is HAT-1 to HAT-4 or HAT General.
- Choose the city where you want to sit the test.
- Fill in your details and upload your photo.
- Submit the form. The portal gives you a Consumer Number.
- Pay with that number through 1Link or 1Bill, for example from your bank app.
- Save the payment receipt. You will need it if anything goes wrong.

Mistakes I see students make
- Waiting for the last day. The portal gets slow near the deadline. Register in the first week.
- Using an old email. Your roll number slip and result come to this account.
- Choosing the wrong group. Pick the group that matches your FSc, ICS, ICom or FA subjects and the degree you want.
- Not saving the receipt. If your slip does not come, HEC help desk will ask for it.
After you register
Your roll number slip comes about 9 days before the test. For the December sitting the slip comes on 4 December and the test is on 13 December 2026. See all dates in our December 2026 test post.
